well, as someone who stayed firmly in the states, i can say that some
people have been absolutely obsessed with said party. it's been planned
and scheduled for ages now with all these names that "everyone loves".
with that much anticipation and anxiety, there are bound to be let-downs.
i'm sure if these same people paid 20 squid for a ticket to a random show
that "might be tops", had all the same problems, but were then surprised to
find all these people playing, they'd love it. but since they all knew
like 4 years in advance (hehe) what to expect, then anything less than
perfect would be dismal.
it's that whole "self fulfilling prophecy" bollocks. they assumed that the
party was too good to be true. so they made it bad. :)
